Rogers Family ATA Martial Arts is a member of the American Taekwondo Association (www.ATAOnline.com), the world’s largest martial arts instruction organization. All of our staff are members of ATA’s Legacy Instructor Program; all of our instructional staff have been certified within ATA’s International Certification process to at least Level 1 Certified Trainer. All adult staff members have undergone a background check and training in and agreement to ATA’s Youth Protection Policies; in addition, we have completed SafeSport Training via the U.S. Center for SafeSport.
Our Silver Dragons program is designed specifically for those of us who are over 50 or have physical limitations. These classes are tailored to each student’s individual needs and abilities. All of our traditional programs are available within these classes – Basic, Sparring (when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted), Leadership, and Legacy.
Martial Arts is an “art” – we focus on self-expression and competition against YOURSELF rather than others. Other benefits include stress relief, improved flexibility, increased mobility, improved coordination, increased strength and power, improved mental concentration, and lower blood pressure and heart rate.
We offer modifications of Taekwondo techniques for those who have limitations on use of legs or arms; specific self defense techniques for use with a wheelchair, cane, or walker; and break-fall instruction to learn how to fall safely and without injury.
